The "Cloudman", Dr. John A. Day, is a professor emeritis from Linfield College, in Oregon, USA, who taught meteorology for over forty years and who has a great passion for sharing the wonder of clouds. Now in his nineties, he continues to write, teach, and inspire people of all ages, around the world. His photography and writings are found in international publications and museums, and are used by artists, musicians, teachers, and many other cloud lovers. Through the pages of this website, he shares with you just a small part of his enthusiasm and his life.

The McMinnville Oregon Kiwanis Club launched a project on August 25th, 2005 to get Cloudman's latest book, The Book of Clouds, into the libraries of all the elementary schools across the country, starting with Yamhill County in McMinnville and spreading to other cities and counties using Kiwanis clubs as the primary vehicle.
